So lately I've been reading a bunch of stories that involve various forms of Mind Control and have been toying with ideas about how such things would be treated in a world where they are known to exist.

But just for fun I want to pose the question, assuming you lived in a world where mind control and brainwashing was a thing, how would you protect yourself against it and what defenses would you put in place? You can use pretty much anything both real or fictional, be it magic or science fiction. I mostly just want to see what sort of ideas everyone will come up with.

Also keep in mind that in this instance 'Mind Control' can mean anything from hypnotic suggestion, magically taking control of your body, altering your memories or personality, being turned into a cyborg zombie and more.

Your character may be a bit on the boring side. Of course, this does depend, but generally if they are scoring that low, it wouldn't hurt to 'spice them up' a bit ^^

If your OC scored around here, then they are probably quite a well-balanced and interesting character. Those scoring in the higher end of this category may be a bit too much though.

No you don't have to love your family, but if they love you and take care of you then it is a good idea to repay that love with some of your own.

Personally I love pretty much all of my family, especially my mother.

2. A close friend calls you in the middle of the night and tells you they're about to kill themselves. What's the first thing you say/do?
Well first I'd say "Wait, don't act rashly....j-just calm down and talk to me, i'm here for you." and once the situation is sorted out I'd engage in some light hearted complaining about being woken up to lighten the mood.

3. What's your favourite snack food?
Personally I like my chips, although yogurt is also a popular options.

3. Do you feel the Christmas spirit? Are you looking forward to it or are you glad when it's over?
Not really, I set up the Christmas Tree my grandparents bought before my older brother was born but other than that not so much. Doesn't help that our Christmas is set exactly when it starts getting really hot around here which isn't all that conductive to the Christmas image.

4. If you could start over, would you?
No, I am happy with how my life has been so far. It's no use wanting to change the past, you just have to keep moving forward.

5. Where do you see yourself around the same time next year?
Probably in a very similar spot, only one year closer to getting my degree.

Honestly? I couldn't care less if one exists or not.

Well mostly I just find a nice quiet space and take some deep breaths. If I'm really angry I take a bat and go to down on this punching bag we have hanging outside. Although for some anger outbursts they are immediately followed by a good amount of crying.

Depends on where it is too and if I have access to the internet for the trip. Although I will make exceptions.

However I most certainly will say no if I'm not given sufficient advanced warning, if there is anything I hate more is not being given enough time to adjust my schedule.

3. You are invited to Dr. Hannibal Lecter's house to have dinner. Would you go?
HELL NO!!! I've seen those movies and I'd rather not be on the menu.

Only if it is one of those toy version or the chocolate one that doesn't risk me getting killed.

I'd be flattered but then politely turn them down while still wishing that we can be friends.

Sure, it's not like I won't end up back there eventually so why not?

I'd go for Earth, mostly because I like the idea of throwing big rocks at people and creating a chair for myself with a stamp of my foot.

I'd go for Velvet covering Iron. If you are by ally and follow my rules then you are treated with kindness, but if you break them then there will be hell to pay.

Chocolate mostly, although I do guzzle down packets of chips sometimes.

Aquarius and to be honest yeah it suits be pretty well.

Honestly I don't know, although you might say it's a cat. Because when I'm focused on something I am very persistent but I'm also really lazy in my free time.
5) Be honest here, do you have a crush on one of your own characters?
Not really, mostly because they are either based off of myself (Connie), a friend of mine (Madison) or my family (Dene).
6) What is your favorite TV show/anime and why?
Jojo's Bizarre Adventures and it's due to the unique plotlines, interesting character designs, stunning visuals and hilarious over the top situations just to name a few.
7) What kind of "dere" would you think you are?
Oh I'm a Dandere all the way. 

8) What's your favorite season of the year?
That would be Spring as it sat in the comfortable medium between too hot and too cold.

9) Oh ma gerd! Anime is REALZ! How do you react?
I'd begin operation "Become a main character" right away before I get killed by this crazy world we now live in.

10) Which member of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse do you think you are?
Probably Conquest, at least my job won't be automatically bad.

11) Do you have a guilty pleasure when it comes to music?
Nothing really, mostly due to the fact that I stopped really caring about how other people view my likes a long time ago so nothing really is a guilty pleasure.

12) Do you prefer the heat, or the cold?
That answer changes depending on what season it is. During hot months I like the cold and during cold months I like the heat. 

And with that done I'm not really going to tag anyone, I just felt like doing this.

So it's been a while since my last journal entry and it's been forever since I added any work to my gallery. So I might as well give all of you an update on what I've been doing, well those of you who I don't RP with in the comments on their artwork.

First off I'm going to explain why I haven't been making any comipo comics recently, the simple answer to that is because I don't have the computer I loaded it on. Basically I made a deal with my brother that basically means that he'll give it an upgrade and in exchange he can borrow it for a while. Unfortunately due to complications, such as the architecture firm he was working at going under, the deal got extended to January next year since he needs a decent computer to do his work on and he doesn't have the money to get his own just yet. For most of the year I've been using a laptop I got for university, it's pretty good but not that powerful.

Second is the aforementioned university, because let's be honest with ourselves whenever you start with that it eats up a lot of your time. Thankfully my year is almost up and then I have a few months of holiday, which will partially be taken up by getting a part time job and getting my driver's license, but I should have a lot more free time to dedicate to writing some stories.

Finally I will admit that I have been really distracted on this group of forums reading a lot of fanfiction and participating in a few too many RP's. But that's just my poison I suppose.

Now onto the real subject matter of this journal, my stories. Since I don't expect to be able to make comics anytime soon I am going to try my hand at writing again and see how it goes, hopefully I can remain motivated and not get distracted like last time.

However if I'm going to do that I'm going to need to do some serious planning which includes some character adjustments and a good amount of world building to make the universe I am sticking my story in.

Now for my main character Connie, well she's going to remain mostly the same with the sole exception of me adjusting her age since I plan to move to a university setting since it allows for greater story potential. But her group of friends? Well Madison is becoming a literal human shaped mass of insects, don't worry she will still be her extremely cheerful self but with just a few quirks thrown in.

Of course my biggest issue is as usual I am terrible at naming thing so I have to ask, does anyone have a good name for a University that is in a Modern Fantasy style setting where magic is a publicly known element and weird magical phenomenons are just thing that happen from time to time?
